Michael Smith's Beer Steamed Mussels
Mussels get a little extra flavour when steamed in a little hops and barley.
- 5 lbs mussels
- 1 bottle of your favourite beer
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 baguette, cut into 1 inch slices
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- 1. Preheat your grill to high.2. Drizzle the baguette slices with olive oil, salt and pepper and grill until crispy and golden.3. Meanwhile toss the mussels, beer and butter into a large pot. Cover and steam over high heat until the mussels open, about 7-8 minutes. Serve with the beer broth and the grilled bread for dipping.
